Academic Board



Members of the Academic Advisory Board offer advice on the teaching practices and learning systems of the college. They serve in a voluntary capacity and assist the centre by providing insight and guidance on educational matters.



Jeanette Rhedding-Jones
PhD, M.Ed., B.Ed, B.A,

Professor Redding-Jonesis an academic and educator with over 40 years experience teaching in schools and universities, both in Australia and overseas. She has authored a wide range of books and academic papers, and currently holds a professorial chair at Oslo University College where she lectures and supervises post-graduate students.

Lindsay James Duncan
PhD, B.A. (Psych), M.C.A., D.C.A., Dip.CH., M.A.S.C.H., M.A.P.S.

Dr Lindsay James Duncan is a registered psychologist, author, and editor. His Psychology career spans 40 years, including 15 years as an academic at the University of Wollongong, where he was the Sub-Dean of his Faculty. He has also lectured at other universities, and was the Director of Educational Programs for an internet university for two years. In each of his academic roles he has worked extensively with international students as both lecturer and counsellor, and also in visiting Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Pakistan, and the United Kingdom to recruit students. Dr Duncan now works full-time in his private practice as a Psychologist, but is still involved with university post-graduate programs as an examiner, and in assisting doctoral students in thesis preparation.

Peter Leonard Shepherd
DCA, B.Ed. (Art), Grad Dip Ed (Drama), Dip Art (Ed), Cert Teach.

Dr Peter Leonard Shepherd has a long and distinguished career as a schoolteacher, university lecturer, artist, musician, theatre director and leader of international artistic programs. He worked for 23 years at the University of Wollongong, where he became Dean of the Faculty of Creative Arts. After leaving that position, he was engaged by that university, as well as the Australian National University and Deakin University as their International Representative. He was responsible for recruiting students in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand and for initiating and directing a number of large Government sponsored artistic exchange programs in Asia and Europe. He continues to work as an examiner and advisor for a number of Australian universities and has been the author of a number of major independent reviews of university faculties and departments.

Helen Warren
Dip. Ed.  B.Theo Grad. Dip. Counselling

Mrs Helen Warren is an educational counsellor and curriculum development consultant; with more then 25 years experience working within the private education system in Australia she was a driving force behind the Queensland Catholic Education Office PEP (participatory education program) strategy.  This was a highly successful project that developed pathways for both parents and children to access vocational training through the schooling environment.  Helen is also an experienced pastoral counsellor in this role she has had extensive experience working with refugees from Sudan, China, South Africa, Papua and many other places.
