Understanding Criminal Behaviour: A Course for Mental Health Practitioners
Understanding Criminal Behaviour: A Course for Mental Health Practitioners

Build practical criminology-informed insight so you can engage clients with offending histories (or risk factors) with clearer assessment, safer boundaries, and more effective interventions.

Who it’s for...

  • Counsellors & psychotherapists

  • Psychologists & social workers

  • AOD and mental health practitioners

  • Case managers & community workers

  • Peer workers / lived-experience practitioners

What you’ll be able to do...

  2. Apply key criminological theories to strengthen case formulation and treatment planning

  3. Identify motivational and psychological drivers behind offending behaviour (without glamorising harm)

  4. Recognise behavioural clues and contextual “scene dynamics” that may inform assessment and engagement

  5. Integrate victim/vulnerability awareness into trauma-informed practice and client advocacy
